Personal Health Services
Rehabilitation Works recognizes unique health needs that are not often addressed by traditional therapy. Our therapists have worked to obtain the knowledge and skills required to address personal issues. We can assist you in regaining control through use of exercise, manual therapy, relaxation education and other specialized techniques. Each program is customized to meet your individual needs in a very private and comfortable environment.
Urinary incontinence is the involuntary leakage of urine that may occur while coughing, sneezing, or during a strong sudden urge to urinate. Urinary incontinence can affect men and women of all ages and should not be accepted as a normal part of growing older. This program helps train weak or overly tight muscles and will retrain the bladder. Treatment may include: exercise, biofeedback, soft tissue release, and learning ways to use muscles correctly in everyday activities.
Pelvic Pain Disorders
Do you suffer with pelvic pain and tension conditions that greatly interfere with normal activities? The pain in these conditions may be felt in the vaginal/rectal region, lower abdomen, or pelvis. Physical therapists with advanced training in pelvic pain rehabilitation will identify your individual needs. Treatment may include: pelvic floor relaxation techniques, biofeedback, and other special techniques.
Get your body back in shape after pregnancy. We have specific exercises designed specifically to help improve abdominal tone and function, pull pelvic muscles back together, and address mechanical issues related to pregnancy and delivery. Exercises usually include your baby.
Osteoporosis is a condition in which there is a loss of bone density, causing the bones to become weak and fragile. Physical therapy will include education to improve safety and prevent falls.
Musculoskeletal Pain During Pregnancy
Some women may have problems during pregnancy with pain in the lower and upper back, ribs, hip, or groin area. Our pelvic rehab physical therapists will identify the best treatment while considering the special precautions needed during pregnancy and following delivery.
After Breast Surgery
Following breast surgery, women may experience difficulty with stiffness of the shoulder or neck, or arm swelling. Our myofascial release therapists provide the expertise and guidance to restore movement and the ability to return to work and home activities. The treatment approach may include: exercise, manual techniques, and education regarding skin care and precautions.
Fibromyalgia is a chronic condition with widespread musculoskeletal pain, commonly including problems with sleep disturbance, generalized stiffness, and fatigue.
